Paulita Florendo Batalon's Obituary
Paulita Batalon Obituary
Paulita Florendo Batalon, age 96, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2020 at her home in Ewa. She was born on January 26, 1924 in Baquio, Phillipines. It was there that she married her longtime friend and love, Pedro Sales Batalon, in December of 1955, who preceded her death in 2011.
Paulita was a talented seamstress who sewed clothing for others for all occasions. Her hands were rarely still. She also shared her abundance of love through food she always had something cooked whether it was fresh made shrimp Sinigang or fried chicken in addition to something sweet whether Pan de coco or assorted chocolates.
For many years, Paulita worked at the Dole Cannery in Honolulu and also served as part of the Immaculate Conceptions Sacred Hearts Association. This suited her servant heart. She said she did it because of a promise she made our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and to serve as an example for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She often could be heard saying, “Do what’s right and do what’s good. Be kind and help others. The world can always use one more kind person.”
Her life was a living example of her favorite Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 — “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.”
Paulita is survived by her sons, Nestor (Omnahara) Batalon, Raymund (Evangeline) Batalon, Peter (Kristin) Batalon, David Batalon; daughters, Arleene Batalon, Dorothy (Mike) Fischer, Juliet Batalon, 21 grandchildren, and 24 great grandchildren.
