Pedro Quime Reyes Jr.'s Obituary
Pedro Q. Reyes, Jr., also known as Peter, age 77, of Ewa Beach, passed away peacefully at home on April 11, 2026, surrounded by his loving wife of 49 years, Paulette Hernandez Reyes, and his children and grandchildren.
Pedro was born on July 8, 1948, in Honolulu to the late Pedro Q. Reyes, Sr. and Rosita Reyes. He was a proud graduate of Farrington High School, Class of 1966.
Pedro honorably served his country as a Vietnam Veteran, dedicating three years to the U.S. Army followed by 17 years in the U.S. Navy. He retired in February 1995 after 20 years of military service.
Following his military career, Pedro began a second profession as a tour bus driver, working for Roberts Hawaii and later E Noa, where he enjoyed meeting people and sharing his love for Hawaiʻi.
Pedro was highly competitive and passionate about sports. He loved playing softball, racquetball, bowling, and especially golf—where he was regarded as better than most. He was a member of several golf clubs throughout the years, including the Beachboys Golf Club and the Lokahi Golf Club. He also enjoyed fishing on his boat, catching fresh fish, and spending time playing card games, chess, and Words with Friends, where he was known to be a formidable opponent.
Pedro is survived by his beloved wife, Paulette; his sons, Pedro Q. Reyes III (Jojie) and Prescott Q. Reyes; and his daughter, Paulette “Dolly” Lindo (David). He is also survived by his grandchildren: Trey Reyes, Dylan Reyes, Donovan Lindo, Prescott “PJ” Reyes Jr., Malachi Reyes, Ezekiel Reyes, and Jazmyne Reyes; and his great granddaughter, Tiana Reyes.
He is survived by his brothers, David (Jinny) Reyes of Las Vegas, Nevada, Robert Reyes, and Gregory Reyes; and his sisters, Lois Ortiz of Alabama, Beverly Sue Cheong (late Willy), Marsha Yambaw (late Donald) of Reno, Nevada, Lucia Cabiles (late Phillip), and Victoria Tanimoto (David). He was preceded in death by his brother, Henry Au.
Pedro is also survived by his sisters in law, Maile Reyes (late Rodney), Leslie Reyes (late Stanley), and Jo Reyes (late Joe), as well as numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and dear friends.
Pedro will be remembered for his dedication to family, love of competition, and the strong presence he brought into every room. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
