Philip "Pas" Ragragola Obituary
On February 18, 1934 in Honokawai, now Lahaina, Maui, Philip ?Pas? Ragragola was born to Roman and Simeona Ragragola. He met His Lord and Saviour on March 7, 2019. Around 1940, his father, Roman, and other sugar plantation employees earned round-trip flights to the Philippines While there, war broke out, so Pas, his three siblings, Marina, Raymond, and Billy, and their parents stayed with family in the Philippines until 1946. They returned to Waialua, Oahu where his father found employment with The Waialua Sugar Company and raised his family. Growing up with his brothers, they learned to love music and learned to play many instruments. Pas was known to have a uke handy wherever he went to share his love of music.
Pas worked in the aviation field as a sheet metal worker, first with McDonnell Douglas in their work-study apprenticeship program. A division broke off and he was soon working under the North American Aviation company which eventually merged with Boeing in 1996, the same year that Pas decided it was time to retire. Socially, Pas and his wife, Lolly, were active members of the Hawaii Club in Cerritos, CA. since the 1980s and Hui O?hana Waialua since the ?70s. In 2012, they decided to retire to their Waialua home in 2012. Pas reconnected with many friends and family in the community. He also became a member of St. Michael?s Church accompanying the choir with his uke, of course.
