I do not know if anyone in her family still remembers me. Kid time, I think everyone called me Winnie. My family was the only Japanese family in that old quonset hut camp. We all lived along a train track that ran below where sugar cane grew. This was just off to the left side going up on Halawa Hts Drive, I think it was called. This was back in about 1949 when I was 9 to until I was about 13. We had to move down the hill to Halawa Housing. I was the eldest in our family of 4 kids. Primrose was part of my happiest childhood memories. I remember Blossom too! It really hurt to move away from that camp and all the very nice people I remember who lived there. I can still remember Primrose's pretty smile and hearty laughter. We all laughed a lot and had so much fun with each other! One of my beloved memories is when we went sliding down a grassy hill with card boards along the ditch that ran next to their quonset hut. We sure had fun! We played marbles, chewed sugar cane which we husked with our strong teeth. We also swam in the reservoir above where we lived and laughed doing so many fun things that did not cost any money! We even caught many crayfish to eat.
