Raymond Mendez's Obituary
RAYMOND MENDEZ, 87 of Waipahu, HI, passed away in Kapolei, HI. He was born in Honolulu, HI. Raymond was a dedicated and loving husband, father, uncle, and friend who enjoyed opera, modern ballads, and Puerto Rican music singing for local musical groups in Hawaii in the 1950's, performing with the San Jose Light Opera in the 1960's, and various church and cultural singing groups in the 1970's through the 1990's. He is a retired Management Analyst from the Federal Government at Camp H.M. Smith, Hawaii, after 37 years. He received a Bachelor of General Studies at Chaminade University and a Master of Science Degree from Central Michigan University. Preceded in death by parents Ramon and Rose Belmudes Mendez and the tenth of twelve siblings. He is survived by wife Shirley Ann Mendez; sons Michael (Karen) Mendez, Marc Mendez; daughters Kathy Atoigue, Karen (Fernando) Cazares; brother Adolphine "Rudy" Mendez of Puerto Rico; 7 grandchildren Phillip, Gavin, Tony, Patrick, Heather, Fernando Jr., Sebastian; 8 great grandchildren. Visitation 9:30am Tuesday March 14, 2017 at Mililani Mortuary Mauka Chapel. Funeral service 11:30am. Burial 12:30pm at Mililani Memorial Park. Aloha attire. No flowers please.
