Mahalo Captain Soo! Forever indebted and grateful for all that you have done for the community and establishing the O’ahu Fire Prep Academy. Allowing so many young and aspiring firefighters the opportunity to one day fulfill their dreams if they haven’t already. You created a way when there was none, you put in the time and work, blood sweat and tears to give us kids a real chance because you knew we encompassed the qualities, grit and perseverance it takes. We’ll continue your legacy in honor of you, and never forget where we come from. My deepest condolences to your ‘ohana and the firehouse community, your name will live on through the ages.Mahalo, mahalo, mahalo!
Dear Soo family I send my deepest condolences to you and your family for the loss of Richard Soo. To me he was a mentor to me at The Papkolea Fire academy. I want to thank him for his knowledge he has passed on to me and the other students. He took time out of his day to volunteer and help people that wanted to be in the Fire department. He impacted me and taught me to be the person i am today. I appreciate all that he has done and given to me and other students. He will me missed but never forgotten. Thank you Captain Soo for your kind dedication for all that you have done.
Thank you Captain Soo for your many years of service and for inspiring many of the locals to become fire fighters. I just finished the most recent Oahu Fire Prep Academy and it has helped me and my class a lot in our pursuit of firefighting as a career and lifestyle. Your influence will be felt for many years and generations. Condolences and prayers for your family and friends. Thank you Captain Soo.
