Richard Sasaoka Obituary
Richard Toshio Sasaoka, 88, passed away on August 17, 2022 at Pali Momi Medical Center.
He was born on December 28, 1933 at Paia, Maui, graduated from Maui High and Maui Technical Schools then enlisted in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1957. Richard was employed as a Draftsman at Hickam Air Force Base. After his retirement he worked as a part time maintenance worker at the Par 3 golf course.
He was an excellent swimmer and enjoyed meeting with his friends at Ala Moana Beach Park to swim and talk stories. Playing golf weekly at the Mamala or Par 3 Golf courses on Hickam Air Force made him very happy.
Richard is survived by his wife of 62 years, Chiyeko; sons, Craig (Lynn), Neil; 2 granddaughters, 1 grandson, 2 great grandsons and 1 great granddaughter all the Love of his life.
We would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the Pali Momi Emergency Room and the 4th floor personnel for their excellent care.
Heartfelt thank you goes to his Care Givers, Hernani and Marcon Aguilar and their assistants for their Love and care for nearly five years.
To all his family members everywhere, thank you very much for all your Love, kindness and support. He Loved all of you very much.
