Roddy Manasas
February 26th, 1943 - September 19th, 2019
He passed away at the age of 76 from natural causes.
Roddy was born in Honolulu to Fred and Nancy Manasas. He was raised in Oahu and after graduating from high school, joined the United States Air Force. Upon honorary discharge, Roddy started working for the US Postal Service. He worked his way through the ranks, retiring as PostMaster in Kona.
He moved to Kona over 30 years ago and married Pat Fuentes. They shared a beautiful life together and now he will be laid to rest by her side in Mililani Memorial Park.
He is survived by: daughter, Tara Aragosa (Chad Aragosa) and son, Sean “Mana” Manasas (Brianna Manasas) along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren Also by: stepchildren, Joanne Rios (Larry), Mike Fuentes (Ann Marie), Leona Castillo (Jason), Marvin Fuentes (Rowena), Leland Fuentes (Jonette) and his brother Randy, many nieces and nephews, and his loving friend, Sharon Smockhoffman.
Roddy was a generous, kind, and humorous man. He loved “talking story” and brought joy to everyone around him. His smile and spirit will be missed by all who knew him.
His visitation will be 9:00 am, funeral services will be at 10:00 am and burial will take place on Oahu at 12:30 pm on October 30th at Mililani Memorial Park Makai Chapel.
A celebration of life will be held at Hale Halawai in Kona on November 3rd at 3:00pm.
