Rogelio “Roger” Ojerio of Waipahu, Hawaii passed away peacefully at home on April 5, 2024, at the age of 80, after a long courageous battle with malignant tumor, surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born on August 21, 1943 in Dugo, Camalaniugan, Cagayan, Philippines and moved to Hawaii in May 1972. He was happily married to Alma Nartatez, the love of his life, and spent almost 54 years together. Roger retired from Servco Pacific in 1997 after 25 years of service. He had a passion for traveling and enjoyed retirement visiting many places around the world.
Roger was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Joseph Church in Waipahu where he served as a 4th degree Knights of Columbus and was also the past president and current advisor for the Santanians Association of Hawaii. He was involved in many events and projects that benefited the community. He was a man of faith and service who inspired others with his kindness and generosity.
He is survived by his wife, Alma and their four children: Rachel (Lito) Macadangdang, Albert (Amie) Ojerio, Joseph (Keli) Ojerio and Christopher (Jessica) Ojerio. He also had nine grandchildren: Jonaven, Reinalyn, JoliAnn, Keathan, Noah, Eli, Aria, Theo and Journey. He was a proud and supportive father and grandfather who celebrated their achievements, loved spending time with his family and making them laugh. He also helped his children and grandchildren achieve their goals and dreams, and supported them in every way that he could. He taught them the values of hard work, faith, and generosity, and showed them how to live life to the fullest. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother who will be greatly missed and remembered by his family and friends. He left behind a legacy of love, service, and adventure that will live on in their hearts and memories forever.
Roger’s funeral and celebration of life will be held on July 1 and 2, 2024. His family invites everyone who knew him to join them in honoring his memory and celebrating his life. Wake service will be held on Monday, July 1, 2024 at Mililani Mortuary Mauka Chapel. Visitation begins at 5:30 pm followed by Service at 6:30 pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at St. Joseph Church, Waipahu. Visitation begins at 11:00 am; and Mass at 12:00 pm. Burial to follow at Mililani Memorial Park at 1:30 pm
