March 11,1925 – February 8, 2023
Aged 97, passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, in Long Beach, California surrounded by family and friends. She was born March 11, 1925 in Hilo, Hawaii and grew up in various places in the Philippines. She returned to Hawaii in 1970 and settled in Waianae. In 2005, she moved to Long Beach, Ca with her daughter. Rosina was married to Teofilo Valdez Sr (deceased) settled in Zaragosa, Nueva Ecija, Philippines where they raised their 8 childrens; Teofilo Jr (deceased), Rodrigo, Gregorio (deceased), Christina, Pedrolando, Feliciano, Evelyn and Reynaldo.
Rosina worked for Malahini Sports Wear in Honolulu as a seamstress for nearly 10 years. After leaving Malahini Sports Wear, she started a farming business with her husband in Waianae until her retirement.
After retiring, Rosina continued to enjoy her usual pastimes; traveling, gardening, sewing and most of all spending time with her family in Hawaii, Philippines, Texas, Virginia and California. Rosina was a devoted wife of Teofilo Sr, mother to her childrens Teofilo Jr (Consalacion), Rodrigo (Catalina), Gregorio (Lucila), Christina (Renato), Pedrolando (Clarissa), Feliciano, Evelyn (Edgar), Reynaldo (Yolanda), 31 grandchildren and spouses, 31 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Rosina also leaves behind 2 siblings Maximo Sanchez (Eleuteria), Theresa Danglapin, preceded in death by her husband Teofilo Sr, 2 sons; Teofilo Jr and Gregorio, 2 grand childrens Joseph and Rodney Valdez and 3 siblings; Augustina Maon, Soledad Domingo and Cirila Bautista.
Wake Service will be held on Monday, May 15, 2023 at Mililani Mortuary Mauka Chapel. Visitation begins at 5:30 pm, and service 6:30 pm. Prayer Service will be held the next day, Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at Mililani Mortuary Mauka Chapel. Visitation at 10:45 am, and service starts at 11:45 am. Burial to follow 12:30 pm at Mililani Memorial Park.
