Rosita Lacuesta Rodriguez Coloma's Obituary
Rosita Rodriguez Coloma Obituary
Rosita Lacuesta Rodriguez Coloma was born September 30, 1947, in Badoc, Ilocos Norte, to Marcos and Jacinta Rodriguez. She was the second eldest child, amongst her 11 siblings.
After graduating from college, she dedicated her time and passion to being a teacher. Mamasita later met the love of her life, Rogelio Coloma, whom she met through her Apo Rosa, while he was vacationing in the Philippines from Hawaii. She agreed to meet with him since she was in Manila at the time, and that’s when their love story began. They eventually began courting, and Mamasita made plans to move to Hawaii, where they eventually got engaged, married, and started a family of their own.
Mamasita took the role of being a mother and homemaker to her eldest son, while she also worked at a fine dining restaurant, as a Pantry Personnel. In 1978, Mamasita and her husband decided to persevere and bring their family to the mainland. There was no telling what the future had in store for them, but with their heads held high, and a few pieces of luggage in hand, they grew to love San Diego as their new home. In the years to follow, they soon welcomed 2 more sons, to complete their family.
As their family grew, Mamasita soon pursued training to devote herself to a culinary career as a chef at the US Grant Hotel in Downtown, San Diego. Her position allowed her to explore many avenues of the food and hospitality world, which brought her to the Marriott Marquis & Marina, where she served as a Garde Manger with much joy for over 30 years. In addition to her rewarding jobs in the culinary arts, her interests also included attending Sunday Mass, spending time at the mall with her grandsons, staying up to date on the nightly news, and occasional trips to the casino.
Today, Mamasita is survived by her 3 children and their spouses {Roger (Junne), Robin, Ronnie (Micha)}, 6 grandchildren {Arvin Eugene (Allison), Izaiah Joseph, Ezekiel Joshua, Zekeriah Jacob, Ezrah Jeremiah, Caleb Angelo}, 1 great grandchild {Miles Reed}, and 6 siblings {Carl (Teresita), Susana (Manuel), Bill (Virginia), Zack (Carmen), Herminia (Conrad), Marcita (Bonifacio)}.
After 74 glorious years, our Mamasita has joyfully joined her beloved husband, parents, and siblings {Arthuro, Augustina, Nenita, Teresita} in heaven, but we are thankful to see the numerous lives she has touched by your presence here, today. Thank you for your time and consideration in commemorating the life of our beloved Mamasita.
