Rudolph Distajo's Obituary
Rudolph Distajo Obituary
The gates of Heaven opened to receive the faithful soul of Rudolph “Rudy” Kealoha Distajo of Halawa on July 24, 2025. Born on November 6, 1936, to Antonio Distajo, Sr. and Mary Kuipua Flores, Rudy attended Aiea Elementary School, Waipahu High School, and the University of Hawaii-Manoa.
Rudy was called to be the Pastor at Hawaiian Pentecostal Full Gospel Assembly, serving for over five decades. He lived a fulfilling life - officiating church services, baptisms, weddings and funerals. If anyone was ever in need, Pastor Rudy was there to comfort and support them as a peaceful presence in prayer.
Rudy enjoyed fellowship with rally church members, classmates, and reunions of the Hukiku Keulua ‘Ohana, often arriving carrying his homemade banana bread, cookies, or squid luau. Rudy loved playing his ukulele, taking walks with his dog, and frequent fishing adventures in Alaska. He also embarked on cruises and a pilgrimage to Jerusalem.
Rudy served his country as a Captain in the US Army Reserves, 442nd Infantry Regiment, worked for the State of Hawaii, Department of Transportation, and as a supervisory engineer with the City and County of Honolulu.
Rudy is survived by his wife of 57 years, Priscilla J. Distajo; his son, Russell (Vanessa); grandchildren, Jasper and Holland; siblings, Antonio Distajo, Jr., Anna Mae Heath, and Albert Distajo (Annie); uncle, John Flores; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his eldest son, Ryan Distajo.
Rudy’s celebration of life will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at 9:00 am, at Hawaiian Pentecostal Full Gospel Assembly, 1159 Gulick Avenue.
