S. Kojun Murakami
S. Kojun Murakami, 45, passed away unexpectedly on February 17, 2024. Kojun was born August 10, 1978 in Dothan, Alabama to Yushin Murakami and Martya Murakami. He attended Northview High School and University of South Alabama in Mobile, AL.
Kojun came to Honolulu, Hawaii in 2003. He worked as a property manager for many years with Koko Resorts before getting his real estate license in 2013. He also received his real estate broker license in 2016. He truly enjoyed being a real estate agent as it was his passion to help others. His charismatic nature was a gift that allowed him to make friends wherever he worked or traveled. His friends and coworkers at Locations describe him as great mentor, teacher, a master of positivity, and a wonderful human being.
Kojun was a happy soul who loved his partner of 13 years and his three fur babies. He enjoyed hiking, meditating, learning Japanese and his Japanese heritage, and talking to everyone he came into contact with. He was a magnificent brother, a fun uncle, and an amazing friend. His positive energy was contagious and his caring nature was genuine. His great smile and his laugh will be deeply missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Ryan Flowers, and his much-loved pets Birdo and Hunny. Kojun is survived by his beloved Lucita Gonzalez, brother Chris (Leslie) Lodahl, sister Carrie Murakami, brother Kazu Murakami, sister Donna (Dan) Herbst, brother Ryoji Murakami, brother Taizo Murakami and his nephews, aunts and cousins.
A private gathering will be held on March 1, 2024. A grand celebration of life will be held April 9 at Kojun’s favorite Waimanalo Beach. Additional services will be held in Dothan, Alabama at a later date. The Murakami and Gonzalez families would like to thank everyone who has reached out, stopped by, sent prayers, shared stories, and given their condolences to the family. Mahalo!
