On the evening of December 9, 2022 our matriarch Shirley Pomaikai Lan Heong (Ho) Nahoopii passed at her home in Lualualei. She lived 91 years of life and raised 4 generations of children and grandchildren. Shirley always entered a place with a gleaming smile and greetings full of "Aloha". Known at gatherings for being the "The life of the party" she would graciously dance hula or sing a song that would have everyone's heart just as full as hers. She taught at Kamaile Academy as a Kupuna of the Hawaiian Studies Program before retiring in 2016.
Shirley is survived by her sons Fred Nahoopii III (Honey Girl) and David "Kawika" Nahoopii, her daughters Shirleen "Cher" Nahoopii, Maynette "Laurie" Nu'uanu (Ted Sr.), Iris Nahoopii-Hose (Rick), Maile Nahoopii-Kaiwi (Mahi), her brothers Joseph Kaeo Ho Sr, James "Kimo" Ho-Kailimai (Mary), Brent Ho (Lindy), Gary Ho (Denise), her 14 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, 30 great-great grandchildren and many more extended ohana. *Please refrain from bringing large sized wreaths/posters/items, smaller sized gifts such as lei/bouquets/cards are preferred.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at Mililani Mortuary Mauka Chapel. Visitation begins at 6:00 pm, and service at 7:00 pm.
