Solomon Howard Kauha's Obituary
Solomon Kauha journeyed forth on July 22, 2025 to his next adventure. Sol was born in Wahiawa.
He knew he wanted to be a policeman after his brush with the law due to drag racing as a teen. For 25 years, he was a dedicated member of the Honolulu Police Department. Sol cherished his memories of being part of the Solo Bike Squad, as well as time spent working with his colleagues. He enjoyed all kinds of music, which he often shared with loved ones. Sol’s sense of humor and storytelling prowess will be missed.
He is survived by his wife, Masina Kauha; sister, Raynette (Gilbert) Algoso; brother, Edward (Pat) Lucero; daughters, Marjorie (Gregory) Tupper, Deborah (Robin) Wentzel; stepdaughters, Tiki (Hinano Cullen) Suan, Alexis Sua-Kauha; son, David (Ed Lehman) Kauha; grandchildren Manu and Pua Tupper; Thomas (Lauren), Ethan (Emree) and Samuel Wentzel; Zen Suan; Sophia Mansfield. In addition to being survived by 3 great grandchildren, there are also many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends that made his ride here enjoyable.
A celebration of his life will occur on Saturday, 12/6 at the Wahiawa United Methodist Church. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am with a service to follow at 10:00 am.
