Auntie Tammie was a very special person to Sal and I. I had the pleasure of staying with Auntie Tammie back in 2016 and we never fell out of touch. She always enjoyed being our tour guide when we’d come to Oahu. From taking us to get shave ice, to our adventure on the boat where we saw a whale breach the water, to a Christmas dinner at Dennis and Rose’s, we always looked forward to spending time with her and the family. She even went with us to take some photos for a painting by THE Lynne Boyer - whom we got to know because of Auntie Tammie being one of her collectors.

Auntie Tammie had a special twinkle in her eye when she spoke to you. She always made you feel like family and the generosity, love and warmth she showed to me and Sal will stay with us forever. We love you so much Auntie Tammie! A hui hou 🌺

My mama loved Tammie as if she was her own. I don’t have many of Mama’s things, but I did have one small box wheee she kept her most treasured memories. In this box was this photo.
I remember Tammie like this- but with more fire and so full of life.
I wanted to be just like her.

Some of the most cherished memories in my life were with Tammie. We enjoyed so many adventures together; boating, fishing, hiking and so many more. The best memories were talking and sharing stories of family.

I have so many memories of Tammie and her love of me and my family.
This picture is so Tammie. She was staying with me at our house in Tennessee. Our neighbor was down in his back and had a full garden he could not get picked.
She grabbed baskets and across the driveway we went. We picked the green beans, the blueberries, and tomatoes- snacking as we went.
I miss her.
