Teresa Tamiko Ichiyama Kojima's Obituary
Teresa Tamiko Ichiyama Kojima died June 25, 2026, at age 93. Teresa was born in Waipahu and grew up on the O’ahu Sugar Company plantation. She graduated from Waipahu High School and the Queen’s Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1953. She married Nanao “Jim” Kojima, and the couple had two daughters. Teresa worked as an RN while Jim’s Air Force career took the family to live in Texas, Panama, Maine, California, and South Dakota. She was especially proud of her work as a cardiac intensive care nurse. In 1983, following Jim’s retirement as a Lt. Col., the Kojimas returned to the islands, settling in ’Aiea. Jim died in 2020. Teresa leaves her two daughters, one granddaughter, three sisters, and many extended family members in Hawai’i, California, and Washington. She will be dearly missed.
