I just became aware of Tom's passing today, 22 May 2026.
Tom and I lived at Hickam AFB in the 1960's, along with many other Air Force 'Brats', including brothers Scott & Kelly Rhode, as well as their sister, Dusty. Tom was an avid golfer and got a full-time job at Camp Smith, handling passenger transportation, while most of us were still attending college.

Both Tom and his sister Dori would frequent the officers' swimming pool at Hickam, where I was a lifeguard. It was a wonderful time to be starting adulthood, despite the war in Viet Nam. Hawaii wasn't that crowded, tensions between 'locals' and military families 'visiting' for 3 year tours were almost non-existent, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the weather and all that paradise had to offer.

May he rest in peace.

I will miss you my friend. We were friends for over 40 years. We had so many good times. This time of year is particularly heavy, as Tom B. and Hildegard, and Thomas all came to my house in Mililani for Thanksgiving dinner. We had a wonderful time with friends, food, and just thanksgiving. The last time I saw Thomas was in 2008 when he came to Charlottesville, VA to see the Rolling Stones. What a wonderful concert. I told him I was in awe, and he never forgot that. I had done my best to get him to go see the Eagles, but could never get him to do it. I wish I could be there tomorrow, but please know that I will be there in spirit. You were my buddy and I will forever miss you. Rip In Peace my friend.

Thomas and I were friends for 40 plus years. My heart is heavy this time of year, as Tom B.., Hildegard, and Thomas all came to my house in Mililani for Thanksgiving dinner. We all had a wonderful time with food, company and everything else that goes along with Thanksgiving. The last time I saw Thomas was in 2008 when he came to Charlottesville, VA to see the Rolling Stones. There was rain predicted, so we took garbage bags to cover ourselves with. It worked, We had a great time at the concert, I told him I was in awe, he never forgot that. I will miss you my friend, I hope you will rest in peace, I wish I could be there tomorrow, please know that I am there in spirit. You were my buddy, God Love You.
