Thomas Nicholas Downey, 78, of Mai'li, Hawaii passed away at his Wai'anae home on May 21, 2024. He was born in Honolulu, grew up in Mai'li and made Wai'anae his home.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Bernadette Maile (Rose) Downey, son Collin D. Rose, daughters Faye M. Machado, Keala (Travis) Kaopuiki, God son Nowlein M. Ortiz, God daughter Ashley Chandler, brothers Nicholas W. Downey and Claude C. Downey. Predeceased by daughter Tanya L Vagai, brother Dale K. Downey and parents Thomas N. Downey Jr., Margaret (Morse) Downey, Thomas was blessed with 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren with another great on her way.
Thomas was a proud graduate of Wai'anae High School, an Army veteran who served in Vietnam, a retired Labor Foreman from the Hawaii State Department of Transportation, Highways Division and a loyal 'Raiders for Life" fan.
Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Mai'li Beach across of Linakola St and Maile Pink Market.
Visitation begins at 9:00 a.m. and service at 10:00 a.m.
