Vaisuatoto Iwamoto Obituary
Vaisuatoto Iwamoto, 73, of Honolulu, Hawaii, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2025. Born on September 19, 1951 in Aunu'u, American Samoa, she eventually made her way to Hawaii in 1968.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Randal Iwamoto and her loving children, Taima Thompson (Earl), Brittany Iwamoto, Isaac Iwamoto (Michelle), Lance Iwamoto (Sherri), and Coreen Capenia (Lenny). She was also the best Nana/Gramma to all her beloved grandchildren.
Vai was hard-working and dedicated. She spent nearly 50 years working in the hospitality industry working in housekeeping and eventually, an Executive Housekeeping Manager for the last three decades of her career (Hilton Hawaiian Village, Queen Kapiolani, Quality Inn/Ocean Resort/Hyatt Place). She was known for her strong work ethic, dependability, and achievements in guaranteeing quality vacations to the many travelers that frequented Hawaii.
Vai loved God. Her faith and spiritual walk was of utmost importance to her. She often spoke of God's love and showing love towards others, also never missing an opportunity to say, "Be nice", always with a loving heart.
She was the epitome of love, kindness, and beauty.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, February 17, 2025 at Mililani Mortuary Makai Chapel. Visitation begins at 5:30 pm and service at 6:00 pm.
