Valerie May Inocencio's Obituary
Valerie Inocencio Obituary
Valerie May Inocencio, affectionately known as “Val” to her family and friends passed peacefully on November 6, 2024 with family by her side. She was 70 years old. She was born on November 4, 1954 in Honolulu, Hawaii to Arcadio “Cajo” Sr. and Lorraine Cabato (both deceased).
Val was the oldest of 5 children. They lived in Germany for short time as their dad was in the Army. They later moved back to Pearl City, Oahu where she spent her childhood years and is where she had her three sons. Val was a graduate of Waipahu High School where she formed lifelong friendships. Another chapter of her life moved her to Virginia, Illinois, and Florida. She ultimately made her way back to Oahu to reconnect with her family and friends. Val cared so deeply for everyone she loved. She was constantly eager to lend a helping hand and was always ready to go holoholo. Not to mention, she loved to talk story with anyone and everyone that she knew.
Val's interests included a passion for collecting intricate figurines. She also enjoyed shopping, which was more than just a pastime; it was an opportunity to find the perfect gifts for her loved ones. Her laughter and cheers could be heard from the stands as she attended sporting events and dance recitals of her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was always their biggest fan.
Valerie will be remembered as strong, funny, giving, thoughtful, outgoing, generous, and courageous. Her spirit will forever be remembered by those who knew her, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her.
Valerie is survived by her sons, Paul Bactista Jr., Cheston Bactista (Sheryl), Desmond Bactista; step daughter, Melody Anne Coto (Cesar) of Florida; her brothers Russell Cabato (Rosie), and Arcadio “Cajo” Cabato, Jr. (Dawn), and Alton Kaleohano (Jill) of the Big Island; her sisters, Veronica Veniegas (Ruben), and Vanessa Tenn (Tyler) and Diana Conley (deceased) of Illinois; and her grandchildren Jake (Thalia), Brennen, Breanna-Leigh, Breylyn-May, Breslen-Lorraine, Ali, Brexton, and Reese.
