Velma Bonoan Bitonio's Obituary
With love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of our beloved Velma Bonoan Bitonio, who peacefully passed away on July 1, 2026, at the age of 84.
Born on October 19, 1941 in San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, Velma began her career as an elementary school teacher. After immigrating to the United States, she and her husband, Rene Bitonio, worked tirelessly to build a life for their family. Together, they believed that one of the greatest gifts they could give their children was the opportunity to receive a good education. Nothing brought Velma greater joy than seeing her children and grandchildren grow into confident, happy, successful people who loved life.
Velma is lovingly survived by her children, Ren Bitonio (Qian Sun), Doris Bitonio (Blythe Yamamoto), and Brenda Bitonio (Brandon Liu); her five beloved grandchildren, Isabel, Elisa, Peyton, Caleb, and Anuhea; her sister, Leda Edralin; and her brother, Renato Bonoan. She is reunited in eternal peace with her beloved husband, Rene.
Her legacy lives on in the family she and Rene lovingly raised and in the values they installed for generations to come.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Velma's life on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at Mililani Mortuary Downtown Chapel. Visitation begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by the service at 6:30 p.m.
