Virginia B. Herrera's Obituary
Virginia Herrera Obituary
Virginia B. Herrera was born in Pozorrubio, Pangasinan, Philippines on June 12, 1930. She married Gavino D. Herrera Sr, on August 24, 1948. She waited for her beloved for five years while he worked in Hawaii to help provide for his new bride and family. They were finally reunited and immigrated to Hawaii in 1955. They started their family with their first born son, Gavino Jr. The following year they had Camilla (Lani), and then came David, Maria Lynn, and Lucretia. Virginia has been blessed with seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Through the years, Virginia and Gavino opened their hearts and home to families and friends to help them start their new lives in America, first in Hawaii and then in California.
Virginia was a loving, caring, and generous soul, whether you were a part of her family or not. She embodied the values of "Ohana" (family). You were always welcomed into her home and greeted with her hospitality and her signature phrase, "Come in and eat." She was always concerned about the welfare of her family and friends and constantly kept them in her prayers. Those who have come and gone from her home know that they were sincerely loved.
In her last years, Virginia had the privilege to travel to spend time with her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren, whom she cherished and loved so much.
Although she has left her home in Garden Grove, California, she is now in her new Heavenly home, greeted by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and her beloved Gavino.
