Wade Masahiko Okinaka's Obituary
Wade Masahiko Okinaka, 53 passed away Saturday December 13th, 2025 at Straub Hospital, Honolulu Hawaii. He was born August 8th, 1972 in Honolulu Hawaii to the late Warren and Lenora Okinaka.
Wade was a shining light and influence in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. Wade was full of compassion for helping those around him and always thought of how he could make a positive impact in people's lives no matter how small the impact. His perseverance to be a positive mentor and friend to those around was exemplified by the one question he always asked, "How can I Help?"
Wade had a passion for fitness, which led him to a career as an Operations Manager for two very prominent multinational gym brands in Hawaii for almost 20 years During his tenure, he won several Operations Manager of the year awards. Always humble, he always made it known that the award was ALWAYS a team effort, making sure the team got the recognition and not just him.
In his later years, he found a joy in baking (Thanks to the tv show The Great British Bakeoff.) His wife Catherine had dubbed him the Midnight Baker as he would often work on his creations at night while the rest of the house was asleep. Favorites were his pound cake and cookies. He even tried his hand at Sourdough bread making, which he didn't personally enjoy, but he made it because others did.
We will miss his sarcastic wit and humor, especially the "Dad" jokes and puns.
Wade is survived by his wife of 25 years, Catherine Candy Okinaka (Agliam), Mother Lenora Okinaka, Sisters Loren Okinaka, Lena Arakaki (Fred Calleon) and his nieces and nephews: Cierra Arakaki, Kiana, Chavis, Logan and Khloe Calleon.
