Walter Minami Obituary
WALTER JUNICHI MINAMI, age 76, of Pearl City, passed into the loving arms of his heavenly Father on May 7, 2019. He was a graduate of McKinley High School, class of 1960, and also attended the University of Hawaii. Walter retired as the Superintendent of Shops 38 and 56 at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard in 1996 after 34 years of civil service.
He is survived by his beloved wife Irma, sons Dane (Valerie), Ken (Jackie), and four grandchildren. The youngest of 9 siblings, Walter is survived by sisters Mildred Hara, Helen Matsumoto, Doris (Roger) Kozuma, Jean Shimizu and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by siblings; Toichi Minami, Laura Hironaga, Albert Minami and Edith Kimura.
A Celebration of his Life will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Mililani Memorial Park & Mortuary, Mauka Chapel. Visitation from 9:30 am, services at 10:30am. Casual attire. Memories may be shared at www.mililanimemorial.com,
