Warlita Laforga Radona's Obituary
Warlita Radona Obituary
Warlita “Lita” Laforga Radona, was born on January 14, 1945, in Paguetpet (now known as La Virgen Milagrosa), Badoc, Ilocos Norte in the Philippines. A month before her birthday, she was hospitalized at Pali Momi upon developing a sudden and unexpected illness. Despite the best efforts of her medical team, it was not to be. Instead, her mission here was ending but by God’s good graces, not before receiving the Last Rites of the Church and the gift of an Apostolic Pardon by Fr. PJ of St. Elizabeth Catholic Parish. Once her nearest and dearest was at her bedside, surrounding her with love, the Lord called her forth from this earthly pilgrimage on December 16, 2022.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Juan “Johnny” and Bernarda Laforga; sister, Rosita “Rose” Laforga; and grandson, Linden J.R. Quintal.
Lita is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Andres Radona; daughter, Analyn (Sheldon) Quintal; son, Bryan (Andrea) Radona; siblings, Dionicio (Flora) Laforga, Flora (Jaime) Agbayani; and grandchildren, Kaitlin, Rez, Cayden, and Kira.
Our Mom was a devoted daughter, an amazing wife, a super-hero mother, a doting grandma, a loving sister, a caring auntie, a generous abalayan (in-law), a loyal friend and a humble person. She was affectionately called and given the honorary title of “Auntie Lita” or “Mama Lita” by the many that looked to her as being like another mom/grandma to them.
She loved being in the kitchen and giving out her delicious homemade goodies to everyone. She would make cookies, herbal teas, banana bread, pinakbet, pistachio ice cream cake, tarong (eggplant) omelette, ube butter mochi and her famous mango bread. She was also the “hostess with the mostest” as she’d always open her home to gather at, being the main hub for our family’s legendary halo-halo parties. Her passion was grocery shopping at the commissary (not kidding) and tending to her garden - admiring the blooming flowers, helping our dad rescue butterflies and harvesting the fruits (especially from their mango tree). Which is so fitting as her life was indeed a fruitful one.
Mom, we love and miss you so very much. Most of all, Dad. May the sacrifices you made in this life serve you well in the next, through God’s infinite and divine mercy. We will pray for you always. Please pray for us, too…that one day we will all be reunited in our true home Heaven, in Jesus Christ’s most Holy Name. La Virgen Milagrosa de Badoc, Cause of Our Joy, intercede for us!
May the angels lead you into paradise;
May the martyrs receive you at your arrival,
And lead you to the holy city Jerusalem.
May the choirs of angels receive you,
And with Lazarus, once poor,
May you have eternal rest.
Eternal rest grant onto, our beloved Mom, O Lord. Let perpetual light shine upon her. Requiescat in pace. In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti. Amen.
