I was saddened when I learned today that Willie passed away last year when I called the office of the Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery. Several years ago, Willie helped me with the proper installation of my mother's marker and a floral arrangement at the gravesite. He was the Cemetery Operations Manager at the time and went above and beyond his duties to assist me because I do not live in Hawaii. He was such a nice person who took his job very seriously to ensure that the hallowed grounds of the cemetery are perfectly maintained as the final resting place of our veterans and spouses. Willie, was definitely a one of a kind. So much to say about such an exemplary person. We were good friends since we met about 1977. He was a friend who would be there for you when troubles came. Always A sweet, polite & courteous man.He was one of only 2 people in the entire world I completely trusted. A wonderful man who loves ice tea, ice cream & his family of whom he was very proud.. I'll never forget him, his smile, his kind & gentle words & faithfulness. He was of excellent character & I'll always remember...sweet Willie.
