Winona Lumoya's Obituary
Winona Lumoya Obituary
On November 1, 2021, our precious mother, Winona “Nona” Lumoya, passed away at home with her children by her side. She was 76 years old. Her battle with serious medical conditions in recent years showed her courage in facing life challenges with a smile.
After a long hospital stay in August, she decided to stop all treatments. She wanted to enjoy life because “you only live once”. The last two months of her life were spent enjoying time with family, binge watching her Korean dramas, indulging in food cravings (mahalo to everyone who delivered green mangoes), and going on special holoholo trips to her favorite spots.
Nona was known for her radiant positivity, her generosity, and her thoughtful nature with family and friends. She will be dearly missed by her children, Frank (Kirstin) Enanoria Jr., Monica (Rob) Lefler, Fayrene (Jay) Deaton, Fabian (Rie) Enanoria, and Lisa (Pat) Widrlechner; 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; half-brother Johnny Lumoya; half-sister Marianne Tampon. She is sitting in Heaven with her mother (Elisa Agsalda), brothers (Jose "Sunny" Lumoya Jr. and Abraham "Noinoi" Lumoya), and sister (Sally Anne Lumoya) - finally at peace and smiling down on us with love.
At Nona's request there will be no public memorial service. She has requested that her children celebrate her life together and scatter her ashes on the North Shore - the place where she grew up, loved, and lived most of her life.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the Infusion Staff at Pali Momi’s Cancer Center for their wonderful care. We appreciate all the compassion that the staff gave to our beloved mother. We would also like to thank Navian Hawaii for their assistance during the difficult transition into hospice care.
