Born in Wahiawa on December 22nd, 1932, Yoshiaki grew up with a clear sense of purpose and a caring heart. Those early years shaped the gentle strength he shared throughout his 93 years.
Yoshiaki passed away peacefully in Pearl City on February 24th, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Throughout his working life—quiet and unheralded by design—Yoshiaki demonstrated the same patience and determination that defined his character. Colleagues and friends alike admired his unwavering integrity and his habit of putting people first, measures of success he valued far more than titles or accolades.
Yoshiaki’s greatest joy came from family. He walked through life hand in hand with his wife, Haruko Kakazu, and together they raised their son, Daniel Kakazu, filling their home with warmth and mutual support.
Friends and loved ones recall how Yoshiaki’s patient guidance and determined outlook made challenges feel lighter.
