Yoshiko Roach's Obituary
Yoshiko Roach Obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Yoshiko Roach known to all as Michi. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and mother-in-law, who departed this life peacefully on May 29, 2025
Born on June 14, 1935 in Naha, Okinawa, Japan. Yoshiko lived a life rooted in love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her family. She was the cherished wife of William Roach for 17 years, loving mother to her son Riki Roach (wife Elaine) who passed away in 2015, and a proud grandmother to Brandyn (wife Cherisse) Roach, Justyn Roach and great-grandchildren Malakai Kalani, Luka Kaleo and Melody Noelani.
Yoshiko moved to Hawaii after marrying her husband William who was an officer in the Navy. They settled in the town of Waianae where they raised Riki. Yoshiko was loved by everyone in the community, and worked as a waitress at Masagos and Hanaras in Waianae where she connected with her friends and family. She touched many lives with her compassion, generosity, and sense of humor. Whether through her kind words, helping hands, or listening ear, she gave so much of herself to others, asking little in return.
Yoshiko had a quiet strength that guided her through life's joys and challenges with grace and dignity. She found joy in simple pleasures and had a remarkable ability to make those around her feel at home. She often found comfort from the tranquility and calming peace of the ocean. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her.
