Albino Pao Obituary
Albino "Bino" Pao, 91, of Pearl City, Hawaii, passed away on August 5, 2023. He was born on May 4, 1932 in Kahuku, Hawaii.
Albino “Bino” Pao is a proud Marine veteran who served in the Korean War with the 1st Marine Division, Bino was an avid competitive bowler, enjoying the sport for over 40 years. He was also a Kahuku High School alumnus, a University of Hawaii sports supporter, and a lifelong practitioner of martial arts.
Bino loved deep-sea fishing, playing the guitar, and accompanying Estrella while she played the piano. His favorite song to sing was Frank Sinatra’s version of My Way. His favorite restaurant was Zippy’s in Pearl City. Bino retired after 30 years with the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard, Sheet Metal Shop 17, as a Nuclear Foreman. Thereafter, he spent a few years with Loomis Armored Service and enjoyed being the “keeper of the monies” as their money-custodian.
Bino was a loving husband and a caring father; he relished in the times spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was the anchor of the Pao ohana. One of his beliefs that he strongly instilled in his family was to do what makes you happy, but always help others along the way.
He is survived by wife, Estrella Pao; children, Lovena (Ron) Harwood, Donna (Michael) Arakawa, Don Pao, and Lee Noelani Pao; grandchildren, Theona, Robyn Lynn, Evan, Mari, Kalenakai, and Marque; nine great-grandchildren; siblings, Albert Pao, Leroy (Diane) Pao, and Caridad Bajo; many cousins, nephews and nieces.
Wake Service will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at Mililani Mortuary Mauka Chapel. Visitation begins at 5:30 pm; and service at 6:30 pm. Committal Service to be held the next day, Friday, October 20, 2023, 11:00 am at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery, Kaneohe.
