She always had a Smile on her face Love them both
Barbara and I were second cousins. We both attended and graduated from Oceanside High School on Long Island where we were in the same sorority. Living in the same village afforded us a lot of enjoyable time together, and Barbara would always stop by the gift shop I worked in on her way home from school.
Other fond memories I have of Barbara are the summers of 1978, 1979, and 1980. My husband Russell Strong and I hosted an annual weekend family reunion at our home in upstate New York. Families attending were the Yamashitas, including Barbara’s mother, Betty, the MacDougalls, the Cousins, and the Reidels. As memory serves, all families were not able to attend each of the reunions, however, they were always fun with lots of laughs and stories shared.
Rest in peace Barbara.
Love, Ruth G. Strong
I have many wonderful memories of Barb. We met in 1977 shortly after we moved to Hawaii. We attended Palisades Community Church together, our son went to school with Scot. Barb and I often walked together. She appreciated Women's Aglow with me too. We had a ladies Bible study that enriched my life. We left Hawaii in 1982 but kept in touch over the years.
We returned to Oahu three times and each time we spent some time with Jeff and Barbara. The last time we had 4 of our granddaughters with us and our son. Barb and Jeff loaned us their van to use for 5 days on Oahu and met us at the airport and at the beach bringing a picnic lunch.
They were a special couple, one I will never forget!!!!
I was blessed to travel to Argentina with them many years ago. She was such powerful intercessor, and so full of life. I always felt safe with them, as Jeff was constantly vigilant, while we could relax and talk story. What an incredible couple, and I look forward to joining them in heaven one day!
