Barbara Elizabeth MacDougall Yamashita's Obituary
Barbara Elizabeth MacDougall Yamashita, 86, of Waipahu, Hawaiʻi, passed away December 9, 2025. She was born April 30, 1939, in New York.
She was a lifelong educator as well as an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God. Barbara served faithfully alongside her husband, Pastor Jeff Yamashita, for 33 years at Waianae Assembly of God in Makaha. They were married 55 years before Jeff’s passing in 2021.
Barbara is survived by son, Eric M. Yamashita (Patty); daughters, Lehua Nani Rabang (Matt) and Maile Elizabeth Aden (Jeff); daughter in law, Jenny Yamashita; brother, Roger Tobey MacDougall (Dusty); 11 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jeffrey H. Yamashita and son, Scot Y. Yamashita (Jenny).
A Celebration of Life honoring both Barbara and Jeff will be held Saturday, January 24, 2026, 6:00 p.m. at Mililani Mortuary Mauka Chapel (Aloha attire).
