Bobbie Laverne Durrett of Newtown Estates Aiea, Oahu Hawaii Died in Waipio, Hawaii on April 6, 2022.
He was born on June 29, 1929 in Bates County Missouri and made Hawaii his home during his first USAF assignment to Hickman Air Force Base (1949-1952) which culminated in a twenty-six year career and advancement to the grade of Chief master Sergeant. A graduate of the University of Nebraska at Omaha, Bob was married to his beloved wife Janet Konami Seiji of Aiea, for sixty-one years.
She preceded him in death on March 31, 2013 (Easter Sunday) after an extended illness. Bob and Janet were long time active members of AUMC where they were married on May 16, 1952 and later declared “Living Treasures” of the church.
They leave behind sons Jonathan Scott of Ewa Beach and Stephen Matthew of Mililani, their wives, nine grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren. A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at the Mililani Mortuary, Mauka Chapel on May 26, 2022 at 6:00pm
