My Uncle Eddie,I always called him the Dos Equis guy!If you've ever seen the old Dos Equis Commercials, I would always say that is him. The most interesting man in the world! He lived life to the fullest that is for sure. I loved hearing his stories and loved receiving his emails with just such beautiful pictures of art and nature.One story I would like to share was a dive trip He, my brother CJ and I went on while visiting Hawaii. He was of course a divemaster, because well that's him. We wound up going on a friend of his dive boat excursion with a rather large group. Before we get into what was supposed to be a reef dive he says hey us 3 are going on our own when we dive in, follow me. We wind up inside a sunken cargo container ship. At one point swimming down and going deck by deck inside this ship pitch black besides our dive lights. It was completely insane to me, but that was him. Such an explorer!! I was happy to have that time with him.He will be loved, missed and remembered. He lived an amazing life
I had the pleasure of meeting Ed some 20 years ago when he was with a mutual friend and having a beer. In the course of having a beer and listening to one of Ed’s stories we became connected on our shared interest of scuba diving and sailing. As a result when he bought his sailboat he asked me if I could help him bring his new boat up to the Hawaii Yacht Club. I did and a friendship developed. Ed, without a doubt, was a multi talented man and a standup guy that you could count on and trust in any situation. After seeing my water stained book on the wrecks in Chuck Lagoon it was a surprise when he showed up to my boat a couple weeks later with a brand new copy of the book. That’s the kind of guy Ed was. Our condolences go out to Kimmy and family. We will all miss an amazing man.
It was an honor to have shared awesome conversations, lots of laughter, and dances with this awesome gentleman, who will be missed by all who had the opportunity to meet him. He’ll live forever in our memories. Until we meet again in heaven. As I’m sure you’ll meet us with a cold brew and a sail boat so we can experience the waves of heaven. To Ed’s family, we are so, so sorry for your loss. Know you are in our prayers as we wish for God and his angels to give you strength and peace during this difficult time.
A guys - guy. I met Ed when my s/v was in the same marina. We shared a passion for motorcycles and often took trips throughout Oahu. We spent many Friday nights at the sailing club with Kimmy and my wife Christine. We shared our love of firearms, good company and Asian food. Our conversations of politics was always based on thorough research and we challenged one another as to how we arrived at our conclusions. our military service also bound us in a significant way. Ed and Kimmy visited us in Montana on two different occasions, we visited him in Florida on multiple occasions, and he and Kimmy visited me in San Diego on my s/v in January of this year 2025.. He became one of closest friends over the years and we spoke frequently on the phone. Our next scheduled visit to him was slated for the 4th of July 2025, unfortunately father time had other plans. My stories with him seem to be endless, from rocky mountain national Park to helping him with landscaping when he moved to Florida. Ed became a significant part of my life over the last 15 years and I miss him dearly. I will have a hole in the rest of my life, but his friendship can never be replaced. I am grateful for having him in my life. He was a brother from a different mother
I worked in Princeton in the same department as Ed for many years. Ed provided me much guidance throughout the years and was always willing to do whatever it took for SES American/GE Americom to be successful. Ed was a true professional and a person that could always be counted upon. There was tremendous confidence in Ed and his abilities and decision making. Working and living in Hawaii, Ed was far away from Princeton. However, Ed’s strong ability to communicate and stay in touch with people always made us feel like he was in the office next door. This was very reassuring to everyone in Princeton. Ed was a gentle man who cared for people and got along with everyone! Ed was a pillar that the company was built upon!! Thanks for all the years of service and friendship Ed! Very much appreciated!!!
I was Eddie’s next door neighbor. As we all know he was a wonderful and caring gentleman. When I would go visit family I never worried because I knew he was taking care of my house while I was away. He did this for all the neighbors. Through the years we became good friends and he would do lunch with the guys when he could. My friends became his friends. We all loved him. I couldn’t ask for a better friend or a better neighbor. He will be missed for sure. Hope to see you again on the other side one day.
Ed was one of the closest friends I ever had. One of the smartest people I have ever known. I always told him that he truly was the most interesting man in the world. I have so many incredible memories with him. He was such a blessing in my life and the lives of my children. I came to call him my surrogate father or “Pops” after the death of my father. He always lovingly called me, Hijo. Such a great man who will forever shape the way I think and the way I live. I miss you every day pops.
