Claude Kment
We shared "sushi" makings beyond the typical, we built a variety of buildings and even a castle. The last 2 days of his visit to my house in El Granada, California was his termination of drinking alcohol. I met Gary thru Luana Ige, he once took care of her little shop in Half Moon Bay when she wasn't present. I hired Gary when I was a VP of United States Fleet Leasing, but Gary's interest was Taxation and he longed for Hawaii...He told me he wanted to study Corporate Tax. I recall that upon his return he bought a new place to accommodate his parents. Our last face to face meeting I think was in Las Vegas, when he paid a visit at my newly purchased house. At a certain point in time Gary became an xray tech at Queen's hospital, later became a case manager. We chatted a few times over the years. Some of my fondest times was celebrating parties with Luana's friends at the Canada Cove Mobile Home Park Rec center with Marion Good and Judy Lund. I think my friend Suguru Hagiwara also attended a major birthday party with Gary, Luana, maybe her sister Sandra...Gary knew Sandra Ige as she too worked for United Air Lines. Later Luana also worked for United before we divorced in 1984? She moved from El Granada to Belmont to live with with her crooked Uncle. Gary was very helpful to me when I lived in Honolulu. Picked me up a few times upon arrival at the airport. He also stored some valuable Koa wood for me, later packaged and sent them to me Once again I was able to chat with him a few times only during his tenure as a case manager, as he was often too busy with his patients.
I miss Gary, our disagreements were always positive and productive. I cannot recall if we agreed 100% on anything? I studied Medical Abstracts over a period of 12 years or so, Gary must have obtained his medical knowledge via Medical classes. I know he was well schooled as often we would chat medical issues.
I think he had a few degrees, some in Taxation, others in Food Services as he was the best "prep" chef on Earth. I haven't spoken to Suguru in about 6 or so weeks as he was not in good health the last time we spoke, suffering with cardio issues and yet taking care of his elderly mother over the age of 100 in Tokyo. I dread calling him for fear of his weak condition ..hoping he will call me, we both use the app Viber I do need to inform him of Gary's passing. I'll meet up with Gary as I'm nearing 90. I'm hoping we meet in the same part of heaven. Bye for now Gary as I'm sure you are taking notes from your special location in Heaven.
