My sincere condolences to Noriko, Skip, PJ and their families of the loss of Oly. I was very young when my Dad, George Bratina and Oly were stationed together and I babysat Skip and PJ for Oly and Noriko. The cutest kids which both have turned into very handsome men. Oly was my Dad’s best friend. My husband and I had the opportunity to visit Oly, Noriko, PJ and PJ’s family in Hawaii a few years ago. I call Oly the Gentle Giant. A Big Man with a Big Heart. I am thankful for that time. I will never forget Oly. His friendship with my Dad instilled in me at a young age what the true meaning of love/friendship is. Our family loved the Harrison family. May Oly rest in peace.
My deepest condolences to Noriko, Lewis, Wendy, Paul, Gina, and Andy.Leroy was more than just a friend, but my mentor that I was extremelyproud of. He faced all challenges head on in sports, in the Air Force, and hisdistinguished civilian careers, and never, ever, settled for second best. I willmiss my close friend of sixty-two years.
God's peace to a dear, respected friend and fellow serviceman. Perhaps the finest friend I ever had. We went from MSgt. to CMSgt together and spent a lot of time in each other's homes - I knew him well. I am not ashamed to say I miss him, as do a lot of mutual friends. I also want to say that Oly had one of the finest minds of anyone that I've known. His life was a success to be admired. The world is a better place for his having been here with us. George Bratina, CMSgt, USAF, Rtd., GS13, CIA, Rtd.
I went all thru East Providence school system with Leroy. I remember his zest for life and friendly personality. RIP my friend
