Nolan Akiyoshi Tanaka's Obituary
Nolan Akiyoshi Tanaka was born on May 20, 1988 in Honolulu, Hawaii. He lived and grew up in Kapolei.
Throughout his 37 years of his life, Nolan lived his life the way he wanted. There is only one Nolan and he stood out because he was genuinely caring, loving, and respectful to everyone he met. He was a talented individual that enjoyed the outdoors. Family and friends know him as the “takoman” and he was great at free diving. His happy place was the beach where he would go diving or fishing. He also loved outdoor bbq and cooking for everyone. Nolan enjoyed his life doing the things he loves. There was never a dull moment when you were with Nolan, he had his ways to make you smile and laugh. He thrived on last minute adventures to anywhere his heart desires. If he wanted to do something right now, he will make it happen.
Nolan lived freely with no worries until he got his calling to be a plumber. He started the apprenticeship program for plumbing in 2017 and completed the program in July 2021. He took his Journeyman Plumber Exam and passed in September 2022. Nolan obtained a State of Hawaii, Hawaii Journeyman Plumber License. Nolan was employed at several companies - to name a few, he was part of the Plumbers-Fitters UA local 675, Steves Plumbing, City and County Department of Parks & Recreation, and, his present employer, with State Department of Education as a plumber. In 2024, Nolan started his own plumbing business “Yoshi’s Plumbing”. He was out there doing his passion and living his life. He was a very kind and loving individual that devoted his time to helping everyone.
Nolan found his greatest joy in life when he met a girl named Ashley in July 2013, since then they’ve been inseparable. They’ve been together for 13 years and have 4 children together. He proposed to her in July 2019. He leaves behind his fiancee Ashley Pammit and their 4 children; 3 daughters-Nevaeh (11), Noelani (10), & Nylah (5) and 1 son- Nixon (7). He loved spending time with his family whether it was at home watching movies all day, going to the beach or cooking his favorite dishes. Nolan made sure everything he did with his children were fun and happy moments. He loved taking his kids to his fishing spots and teaching them how to fish. He brought out the laughter in all of us. We will miss him immensely but we have all these wonderful memories we can carry with us and remember him by. He will forever live in our hearts.
