Ofelia Tengasantos Tabije's Obituary
With both profound sadness and deep gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we announce the peaceful passing of Ofelia Duque Tengasantos Tabije. She entered eternal rest asleep with rosary in hand, surrounded by grace and serenity on September 27, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on August 19, 1935, to Lucio and Alejandra Tengasantos in Mangatarem, Pangasinan, Philippines, she truly embodied selfless love and unwavering faith.
Lily was the epitome of living prayer. Her days were filled with miracles and a steadfast devotion to God, family, and friends. She carried the burdens of many in her heart, lifting them through prayer. Her faith was not just practiced—it was lived, breathed, and shared with those fortunate to know her.
Known as Ma, Nana, Atching, Ninang, Auntie—Lily was a spiritual anchor, a miracle worker, and a tireless intercessor. Through a surrender prayer or whispered Hail Mary, she made everyone feel seen, loved, and held by something greater. Her home was a sanctuary of peace and love through prayer and food offering comfort, healing, and hope. Her strong faith was a beacon of light, inspiring those around her to trust in God’s plan and embrace His love.
We are comforted knowing Lily is eternally in the arms of Jesus and all the saints and is reunited with Marcial, her beloved husband of 71 years. Her legacy of compassion and humility will continue as she is survived by her children Florence and Brett Schuh, Norman and Angela Keen Tabije, Roland Tabije and Sally Schwartz, grandchildren Lance Tabije, Logan “Sasa” Tabije, Justin and Meryll Schuh, great- grandchild Jaxon Schuh, siblings Cecilia Milo, Ceferino and Francisca Tengasantos, Imelda and Paul Vernon, goddaughter/niece, Alyta and Stephen Harrell, Alysse and Ella along with countless relatives and friends across the globe. She was preceded in death by her husband Marcial Tabije, her parents, Lucio and Alexandra Tengasantos, and sister Virginia Tengasantos Gonzalo.
Though we mourn the loss of Ofelia Duque Tengasantos Tabije, we also celebrate the incredible impact of her unwavering faith, which was a testament to the power of prayer and the grace of God.
